The gift was announced today during the inauguration of the University of Southern California's 11th president C. L. Max Nikias; more than 10,000 attended the event.

Ellen Eisenberg, executive director of the Pennsylvania High School Coaching Initiative (PAHSCI), an embedded one-on-one instructional coaching, mentoring, and professional development program for high school educators, today praised Governor Edward G. Rendell’s proposed 2008-09 General Fund budget, which would strengthen the state’s education system by targeting investments for programs proven to enhance student achievement.

Building on the Annenberg Foundation's 20-year history of providing support to the nonprofit community, the Foundation designed this day-long event to both celebrate nonprofit leaders, and to inspire them to greatness through continued professional development.

The Annenberg Foundation and the California Community Foundation announced Monday that they are renewing Project Grantsmanship, a partnership with The Grantsmanship Center that strengthens the local nonprofit sector by providing subsidized grantsmanship training for community-based organizations in Los Angeles County.

A group of California Foundation known as the Foundation Coalition has been working together since June 2008 on grantmaking and community activities focused on the needs of minority-led and small grassroots nonprofits that serve minority populations.
